The San Jose Sharks have signed free agent defenseman Dalton Prout to a one-year, one-way contract worth $800,000, according to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports. The Sharks confirmed the report earlier today.
Prout spent the 2018-19 season with the Calgary Flames, where he skated in 20 games and recorded one goal and one assist. He also suited up in four AHL games with the Stockton Heat, where he recorded one goal and two assists.
Prior to his time with the Flames, Prout spent time in the Eastern Conference with the New Jersey Devils and Columbus Blue Jackets.
