SAN JOSE — Exit Mirco Mueller, enter Mario Ferraro.
The Sharks replaced a former-top blue line prospect in the second round of the 2017 NHL Draft in Chicago Saturday, using one of the picks (No. 49) they acquired from the New Jersey Devils in the Mirco Mueller trade last weekend to acquire a highly-touted defenseman from the United States Hockey League.
With the 49th pick, the Sharks selected Mario Ferraro, a mobile, puck-moving blue liner who collected 41 points (8g, 33a) in 60 games for the Des Moines Buccaneers.
