SAN JOSE — The Sharks reassigned forward Kevin Labanc to the AHL just as Jannik Hansen is getting set to make his debut with the team.
Labanc, 21. has 19 points in 49 games with the Sharks this season but had been struggling to make an impact on the scoresheet lately with one assist in his last six games. The Barracuda play in San Diego on Wednesday night.
Labanc was a healthy scratch for Monday’s game in Winnipeg as instead, Melker Karlsson played on the Sharks’ top line with Joe Thornton and Joe Pavelski.
Hansen is expected to practice with the Sharks on Wednesday morning and play on Thursday against the Washington Capitals at SAP Center.
