The San Jose Sharks re-signed goaltender Troy Grosenick to a two-year contract extension, the team announced this afternoon.
Grosenick just ended the best season of his career, winning the Baz Bastien Award as the American Hockey League’s best goaltender. He set career-highs in save percentage (.926) and wins (30), finishing tied for second and second in each category, respectively.
The 29-year-old netminder was set to become an unrestricted free agent following the completion of a two-year deal he signed in 2014. The first year of the contract was a two-way deal, meaning Grosenick was played a different salary in the AHL and NHL, while the second was a one-way deal worth $600,000 at either level.
