Sharks rally again, but lose to Minnesota in overtime

SAN JOSE — Another game. Another three-goal deficit erased in dramatic fashion.

Only this time the Sharks didn’t quite get the feel-good ending they were looking for.

Nino Niederreiter intercepted a Dylan DeMelo pass intended for Timo Meier and beat Martin Jones with 1:34 left in regulation time as the Minnesota Wild withstood a furious Sharks rally to earn a 4-3 win at SAP Center.

With the Sharks trailing 3-0, Brent Burns scored two power play goals before Tomas Hertl tied it up late in the third period.

After Burns’ blistering slapshot from inside the blue got past Wild goalie Alex Stalock to cut Minnesota’s lead to 3-2 with 17:19 to go in regulation time, Hertl tied the game with his seventh goal of the season at the 14:59 mark.
