TAMPA, Fla. — The Sharks couldn’t score on the power play Saturday night and by the time they did finally beat Andrei Vasilevskiy in the third period, it was already far too late.
The Sharks went 0 for 4 with the man advantage and couldn’t score in the first two periods despite 30 shots on goal, as the Tampa Bay Lightning ran away with a 7-1 win at Amalie Arena.
The Sharks had 15 shots on goal in both the first and second periods. Marc-Edouard Vlasic scored with 5:16 left in regulation time to make it 5-1, as the Sharks avoided their first shutout of the season.
