SAN JOSE — The Sharks recognized Patrick Marleau before Wednesday night’s game against the Florida Panthers for becoming just the 45th player in NHL history to score 500 goals.
In a roughly five-minute, and fairly understated, ceremony, Marleau was joined on the ice by his four sons, general manager Doug Wilson, former teammates Mike Ricci and Evgeni Nabokov — now both now Sharks’ development coaches — and the Sharks’ training staff.
Wilson gave Marleau a plaque commemorating five of his milestone goals, and Marleau was also given a three-liter bottle of wins from the Sharks’ training staff.
