SAN JOSE — The Sharks will recognize Patrick Marleau prior to Wednesday’s game against the Florida Panthers as they honor their longest-tenured player for scoring 500 NHL goals.
As he did the night he scored his 500th goal on Feb. 2 against the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena, it’s a safe bet that Marleau use the opportunity to thank those who have helped him get to this point.
“It’s definitely nice to be a part of that select group,” Marleau said Tuesday. “I’m looking forward to it and I guess the best part is I can’t really think about it too much.
