SAN JOSE — Marcus Sorensen’s first season of professional hockey in North America takes another step forward Thursday as he’ll start on the Sharks’ third line with Tomas Hertl and Joel Ward against the Vancouver Canucks.
In three prior NHL games, Sorensen had mostly been on the Sharks’ fourth line. That’s where he started Tuesday’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, but he played the third period with Hertl and Ward.
The speedy winger finished with nine minutes and 53 seconds of ice time against the Leafs and with three shots on net.
Modest totals, but still career-highs.
