CALGARY, Alberta — As soon as the NHL announced that the 2019 All Star Game would be played in San Jose, fans and media started brainstorming on ways to give the festivities a local Sharks touch.
Some tossed out the idea of bringing Patrick Marleau back to town as a special guest honoree. Others suggested that Joe Thornton should get an All Star Game farewell in front of his hometown crowd as he approaches his 40th birthday this summer.
But with the game coming up in less than four weeks, these All Star fantasies are looking farfetched.
