SAN JOSE — The Sharks haven’t been a good faceoff team all season and enter Sunday’s game against the Dallas Stars rank 26th in the NHL.
How critical that part of the game is a to team’s success is up for debate.
After all, the Sharks lost recent games against Minnesota, Boston and Florida where they won a majority of the draws. They won post-all star break games against Chicago and Washington when their faceoff win percentage was in the low 40s. The Sharks are also one of the NHL’s best possession teams.
Still, the Sharks simply have to be better at draws than they were Saturday against Nashville.
