SAN JOSE — Joe Thornton skated throughout the Sharks’ 30-minute practice Monday, but his return to game action isn’t likely to come before the Stanley Cup playoffs get underway on April 11.
The Sharks will close out the regular season with three home games at SAP Center this week. Head coach Pete DeBoer labeled Thornton as “doubtful” to appear in any of those contests.
Thornton declined to speak with reporters after practice, sneaking out of the locker room with his skates on.
The 38-year old’s participation in practice Monday is another sign that his health is trending in the right direction.
