Sharks newcomers to make preseason debuts vs Canucks

Martin Jones will make his first appearance in goal for the Sharks tonight in preseason action vs. the Canucks at Rogers Arena in Vancouver.

Jones, acquired from the Boston Bruins (via Los Angeles) this summer in a trade, is expected to start in net. Whether he is scheduled to play the entire game is unclear.

Joel Ward, signed to a three-year contract in the offseason, will also make his preseason debut, as will defenseman Paul Martin, inked to a four-year deal on July 1.

Others suiting up for the Sharks tonight include forwards Patrick Marleau, Logan Couture, Tomas Hertl, Ben Smith, Joonas Donskoi, Nikolay Goldobin, Rourke Chartier, Barclay Goodrow, John McCarthy, Micheal Haley, and Frazer McLaren; defensemen Brent Burns, Matt Tennyson, Karl Stollery, Mirco Mueller, and Justin Braun; and goalie Alex Stalock.
