LOS ANGELES – New Sharks coach Pete DeBoer’s opening night lineup was revealed on the Staples Center ice Wednesday morning.
The only two places that were unclear were which combination DeBoer would use on the fourth line, and who defenseman Brenden Dillon’s partner would be on defense.
When the puck drops at 7:30 p.m., Chris Tierney will center Barclay Goodrow and Mike Brown, while Matt Tennyson will get the call on defense ahead of rookie Dylan DeMelo. Ben Smith will be the other healthy scratch.
Now that Raffi Torres is out for at least half of the season (the Sharks have yet to clarify his position as a non-roster player), it’s fair to wonder if San Jose has enough physicality in its lineup.
