Sharks lose second straight on home ice, falling to woeful Kings

SAN JOSE — IIya Kovalchuk scored his second of the game in overtime to hand the Sharks their second straight loss on home ice.

Kovalchuk scored on a breakaway a 2:29 of overtime, clinching a 3-2 win for the Los Angeles Kings, who entered the game with the fewest points in the Western Conference.

The Sharks battled back from a 2-0 deficit in the second half of the third period to earn a point for the eighth time in 10 games.

Joe Pavelski tied the game at 2-2 with 30 seconds left in regulation, redirecting a point shot from Brent Burns.
