Sharks let another lead slip away, lose to Devils

NEWARK, N.J. — Suddenly, finishing is a problem for the Sharks.

For the second straight game, San Jose couldn’t protect a third-period lead as New Jersey’s Jean-Sebastien Dea scored the game-winner at 3:25, stuffing home the rebound of a shot from the circle by former Sharks defenseman Mirco Mueller, and the Devils beat the Sharks 3-2.

“It’s disappointing because we go into the third with the lead,” said Sharks forward Joe Pavelski, who picked up his 700th NHL point when he slammed home the rebound of a Brent Burns shot at 3:51 of the second period.
