PITTSBURGH -- Sharks forward Melker Karlsson has discovered the secret to scoring goals in the Stanley Cup Final: Mishit the shot.
Karlsson didn't get all of the puck when he scored the Sharks' only goal in the Game 4 loss to Pittsburgh, and he repeated the error on Thursday -- much to his teammates' delight. His mishit from the slot late in the first period proved to be the winning goal as the Sharks dodged elimination with a 4-2 victory at the Consol Center."I fanned on it,'' he said with a grin, "but it went in."Karlsson, a quiet and unassuming 25-year-old from Lycksele, Sweden, has become an unlikely source of offense for the Sharks with goals in back-to-back games to give him five for the playoffs.
