The Sharks announced Wednesday that Dave Barr has joined Pete DeBoer’s coaching staff as an assistant and will serve as an “eye in the sky” for the team.
Barr, 56, has spent the last nine seasons as an NHL coach in various capacities, and was most recently an associate coach with the Florida Panthers for the 2016-17 season. He was let go by the Panthers on April 10.
“Dave is a veteran coach with a long history of development at all levels,” DeBoer said in a statement. “We’re excited we were able to add him to our staff.
