PITTSBURGH -- Extra days of rest in the middle of a series were rare in the first three rounds of the NHL playoffs. But the Sharks showed an ability to take advantage of the added time to prepare for the next game.
The Sharks are 2-0 in the playoffs when they've had two days between games in middle of a series. It'll need to pay off again as they get set to face the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final on Thursday at Consol Energy Center in a do-or-die situation. "When you're traveling back and forth like that, for sure," it can help, Sharks forward Joel Ward said.
