SAN JOSE — Forward Melker Karlsson did not practice Sunday and is considered day-to-day with a head injury as the Sharks get set to begin a five-game road trip this week.
Karlsson was at the Sharks’ practice facility Sunday, a positive sign after he was struck in the head by a slap shot from Flyers defenseman Ivan Provorov early in the team’s game with the Philadelphia Flyers at SAP Center. Karlsson left Saturday’s game with 7:38 left in the first period and did not return.
“To me, toughness is blocking shots and playing hard, playing physical,” Sharks captain Logan Couture said.
