SINCE THE TRADE DEADLINE: The Capitals reaffirmed their Stanley Cup aspirations by acquiring defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk on Feb. 27 from the St. Louis Blues in one of the NHL’s biggest deadline-week deals. Since the trade, the Capitals have gone 3-1, holding the Rangers, Devils and Flyers to a combined two goals before they lost 4-2 at home to Dallas on Monday.
