Sharks finish off Kings, advance to West semifinals

LOS ANGELES — Joonas Donskoi isn’t one of the Sharks’ more experienced players, so it might not be expected that he would play a key role in his rookie season.

Donskoi came through in a big way, scoring two goals to lead San Jose to a 6-3 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Friday night as the Sharks captured the best-of-seven Western Conference first-round series 4-1. Donskoi, who turned 24 years old this month, will play for Finland in the 2016 World Cup of Hockey in September.

Donskoi scored on a pass from Brent Burns at 3:58 of the third period to snap a 3-3 tie.
