Sharks face depleted Canucks, hope to increase division lead

The Sharks will looking to become one of the few teams in the NHL this season to win their first game coming out of their five-day break when they face the depleted Vancouver Canucks on Saturday at Rogers Arena.

With an assist from the Los Angeles Kings, the Sharks might even have the same five-point lead they had before the bye week began.

If the Sharks can beat the Canucks and the Kings can beat the Anaheim Ducks in regulation time Saturday afternoon, the Sharks will have 79 points and a five-point lead over both Anaheim and Edmonton by day’s end.
