Sharks' Erik Karlsson will miss Jets game, could rejoin team on road trip

Tuesday night’s contest between the San Jose Sharks and Winnipeg Jets is considered to be a potential Western Conference Final preview. However, two of the game's biggest stars won’t be part of the lineup.

Sharks’ defenseman Erik Karlsson and Jets’ defenseman Dustin Byfuglien will both be out of the lineup when their team’s face off at Bell MTS Place for the second game of the Sharks-Jets season series.

Karlsson participated in part of San Jose’s morning skate on Monday and was considered day-to-day as he continues to deal with an unspecified lower-body injury. He then didn’t join the team on the flight up to Canada and will miss at least the game in Winnipeg, per Paul Gackle of the Mercury News.
