SAN JOSE — The Sharks got the effort they wanted Friday night after a discouraging end to a five-game road trip.
But even their most dominating performance of the season so far couldn’t prevent another loss.
With the Sharks scrambling in their own end, Nikolaj Ehlers took a pass from Jack Roslovic and rifled a shot past Martin Jones with 1:24 left in the third period to give the Winnipeg Jets a 3-2 win at SAP Center.
It was the fourth straight regulation time loss for the Sharks, who out shot the Jets 53-19.
Tomas Hertl scored 49 seconds into the third period to tie the game, but the Sharks could not get the go-ahead goal despite 13 other shots in the third period on Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck.
