SAN JOSE — The Sharks have held their own against some of the best teams in the Eastern Conference this season.
From coach Pete DeBoer’s perspective, there’s no reason to think the effort, at the very least, will be any different for Thursday’s game against the league-leading Washington Capitals at SAP Center.
“Anytime you face a team like this, it’s a good measurement for you and where you’re at,” DeBoer said Thursday morning. “We like to feel that we can compete with those teams. So, it’s a great challenge for us. Our group, typically in the time I’ve been here, has risen to the occasion against teams like this and I expect that tonight.
