ANAHEIM — There was a time last month when it was believed that Dalton Prout was closer to making a return to the Sharks’ lineup than Radim Simek.
While Simek was still working his way back from reconstructive knee surgery, Prout was progressing from a concussion he suffered Oct. 2 in the Sharks’ season-opener against the Vegas Golden Knights. Both players were on the team’s road trip against Atlantic Division teams in late October, and Prout was skating normally with contact when the Sharks were in Montreal.
Then just a couple days later, Prout woke up in Toronto and the symptoms returned.
