SAN JOSE – The Sharks reduced their NHL roster to 27 players on Thursday with the reassignment of defenseman Tim Heed to the Barracuda.
That’s the group that will head to Arizona on Friday as the Sharks play their penultimate preseason game against the Coyotes. The Sharks will practice in Arizona on Saturday and conclude the preseason in Anaheim on Sunday.
The lines remained the same as Tuesday during what was a lengthy practice at Sharks Ice. Tomas Hertl will almost certainly start the year on the left wing of Joe Thornton, while Chris Tierney will get a chance to center the third line.
