SAN JOSE — The details of Logan Couture’s injury keep getting more gruesome.
In addition to playing with wiring and plastic in his mouth to hold his teeth together, Couture acknowledged Tuesday that he competed in the Sharks first round Stanley Cup playoff series against the Edmonton Oilers with two fractures in his face.
The first fracture stretches from Couture’s upper lip to his nose. The second fracture is underneath the alternate captain’s bottom row of teeth.
“I had a couple fractures in my face from the injury, that’s why I was obviously wearing a cage to begin with, just to let my face heal a little bit longer,” Couture said, adding later: “They’re not fun.
