Aaron Dell out-duelled Casey DeSmith, and the San Jose Sharks skated away with a 2-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Just like everyone surely predicted when the schedule was released.
Tomas Hertl scored the game-winning, power play goal 1:53 into third period, and Dell stopped every shot he faced in the third period to preserve the one-goal lead. Timo Meier tied the game 17:44 into the first period, nearly 14-and-a-half minutes after Penguins forward Conor Sheary opened the scoring.
Saturday marked San Jose's first win against Pittsburgh since June 9, 2016, Game 5 of that year's Stanley Cup Final.
