The San Jose Sharks (26-32-4, 6th in Pacific) and the Philadelphia Flyers (35-20-7, 3rd in Metropolitan) are a tale of two teams headed in entirely different directions. The Sharks, as we know, were sellers at the NHL Trade Deadline, sending Barclay Goodrow to the Tampa Bay Lightning and Patrick Marleau to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Brenden Dillon was sent to the Washington Capitals just a few days before that.
Philly, meanwhile, decided to add some depth players at the deadline. The team brought in prospect Nathan Noel, forward Derek Grant and forward Nate Thompson to build up its forward depth for a postseason run.
