The Sharks reduced their roster again on Thursday by assigning defender Tim Heed to the San Jose Barracuda. The 25-year-old defender is set to play his first season in North America after previously playing in Sweden. He was originally drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in the fifth round of the 2010 draft.
San Jose now has eight defenders with Mirco Mueller and Dylan Demelo likely fighting for the final defense spot. We’ve still got two more games to go through so it’ll be interesting to see which young defender wins this battle — my money’s on Demelo.
