The San Jose Sharks on Monday named Steve Spott their second assistant coach to Peter DeBoer.
During the 2014-15, Spott was an assistant coach for the Toronto Maple Leafs. He served two seasons with the Maple Leafs. In the 2013-14, he was head coach of the Toronto Marlies, the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Leafs. He led the team to a record of 45-25-2-4, winning the North Division title and reaching the Western Conference Final, where they fell to the eventual Calder Cup champions the Texas Stars.
