SAN JOSE — Goalie Aaron Dell remembers nearly everything about the night he made his NHL debut when the Sharks played the New York Islanders in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center.
Dell won his first NHL start, making 21 saves to help the Sharks beat the Islanders 3-2 on Oct. 18.
At 27, after playing at nearly every level of professional hockey imaginable, from Texas to Utah to British Columbia to Massachusetts, he had finally started a game, and won, in the NHL.
“I think that one stuck out a little bit,” Dell said of the Islanders game.
