The Sharks didn’t start out the game on top, but they ended it that way. San Jose outlasted the Edmonton Oilers to win 4-3 in overtime. With the win, the Sharks get a much-needed two points and a little distance between themselves and the Los Angeles Kings in the Pacific Division race as the playoffs draw near.
Edmonton pushed early in the first period and scored on the team’s fifth shot of the game. Zack Kassian protected the puck behind the net and then fed it right to Drake Caggiula who tapped it in for an easy goal, putting Edmonton up 1-0.
