On Monday, Sergei Makarov will become the fourth player inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame to have worn a Sharks jersey for at least a portion of his career.
Makarov spent two seasons in San Jose — 1993-95 — and led the Sharks in goals (30) and scoring (68 points) at age 35 in 1993-94.
In addition, the great Russian star was maybe the most mysterious and guarded player in franchise history, though former U.S. Olympian and short-time Shark Mark Pavelich — who disappeared into the Minnesota woods without a word after playing the first two games of San Jose’s expansion season — could give Makarov a run.
