2019 is the gift that keeps on giving. The Sharks have yet to lose in the new year, extending their winning streak to six with tonight’s 4-1 win over the Ottawa Senators.
In their first two games in California, the Senators played well — albeit against equally as bad competition. They rode that confidence into the first period of tonight’s game.
When adjusted for score and venue at 5-on-5, the Senators had a good showing in the first period, with a 61.55 percent Corsi-For. Though the Senators were attempting shots, the Sharks edged them 9-7 in scoring chances through the first twenty minutes.
