Since their creation in 1991, the San Jose Sharks have traded away nine first-round picks. Yes, you read that correctly, NINE first-rounders traded away in 28 seasons of existence.
Now the first-round picks I’m talking about are the ones that were originally owned by the Sharks and ones that were traded away for players, not the ones used to trade up or down in drafts.
This means that first-rounders that were acquired by the Sharks via trade and then flipped by the team are not counted in this list.
If I counted first-round picks that were traded away in trade-ups/downs in drafts and ones that weren’t originally owned by San Jose, there would be many more picks on this list.
