The San Jose Sharks have signed forward Brandon Mashinter to a one-year contract, the club announced today.
Originally undrafted, the 6’4” and 225 pound Mashinter was signed by the Sharks as a free agent in 2009. He spent most of his time with the Sharks’ AHL affiliate, the Worcester Sharks, suiting up for thirteen games with the big club from 2009-2013. Mashinter was traded to the New York Rangers for Tommy Grant.
Now 28 years old, Mashinter played last season with the Rockford IceHogs, the Chicago Blackhawks’ AHL affiliate, where he served as alternate captain and was named the team’s most valuable player.
