Martin Jones is entering his 5th year as the San Jose Sharks starting goalie. Coming off a down season in 2018 – 2019, Jones is hoping to turn his fortunes around behind a newly structured Sharks defense orchestrated by Bob Boughner.
Last season the 29-year-old goalkeeper struggled mightily during his time between the pipes. Jones started in 62 games which was less that his average of 63.3 contests throughout his Sharks tenure. Still the goalie failed to string together any level of consistency from game to game.
The typically steady Jones logged the worst save percentage at 5v5 in 2018 – 2019 among qualifying goaltenders with a lousy 0.
