FT. LAUDERDALE – Defensive prospect Jeremy Roy expected to go in the first round of the NHL Entry Draft on Friday night. What he didn’t expect was to end up the property of the Sharks.
San Jose traded up to select Roy with the first pick of the second round (31st overall) on Saturday, as the draft resumed at BB&T Center.
According to NHL Central Scouting, the 6-0, 188-pound Roy is “a very good puck-moving defenseman.
