SAN JOSE -– Facing arguably their toughest opponent of the young season, the Sharks battled tooth-and-nail with a Nashville club that typically makes its opponent earn every inch of the ice.
Joe Pavelski’s game-tying goal in the third period is a perfect example. After absorbing a vicious blow from the one of the hardest players in the game in the slot, Preds defenseman Shea Weber, the Sharks captain crumpled to the ice. Instead of staying down, he struggled to upright himself and immediately smacked in a Matt Tennyson rebound a minute and a half into the third period to tie the game at 1-1.
