Dainius Zubrus is getting closer to officially signing a contract with the Sharks.
The 37-year-old forward, who has been on a tryout since Nov. 16, will accompany the club back to the Bay Area on the team charter immediately after its game in Columbus.
Hockey Night in Canada’s Damien Cox reported on Saturday night that “it looks like [Zubrus] will be signed, and he will become a Shark.”
According to a source, the decision on Zubrus lies mainly with head coach Pete DeBoer. The former Devils coach, who had Zubrus for three-and-a-half seasons in New Jersey, originally called Zubrus to gauge his interest in trying out for San Jose.
