The Sharks have signed unrestricted free agent defenseman Paul Martin to a four-year contract, according to ESPN.
Terms of the deal were not immediately known.
In 697 career games, Martin has 43 goals and 272 points for the Devils and Penguins. Last year in Pittsburgh, the 34-year-old posted 3 goals and 20 points with a +17 rating in 74 games while averaging 22:47 a night, the second-most among Penguins defensemen.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder was originally drafted in the third round by New Jersey in the 2000 draft. A Minneapolis native, Martin has competed in the Stanley Cup playoffs for 11 straight seasons, with 5 goals and 40 points in 85 games for the Devils and Penguins.
