SAN JOSE — Logan Couture is expected to sign an eight-year contract extension with the Sharks shortly after he is eligible to do, according to a report.
Wednesday, Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic said on TSN that all signs point to Couture signing the extension in early July, possibly as soon as Sunday, the first day NHL players who still have a year remaining on their existing deals can finalize contract extensions.
Couture is entering the final season of a five-year, $30 million deal he signed with the Sharks in 2013.
The Sharks took the same approach last July 1 with defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic and goalie Martin Jones.
