The NHL trade deadline came and went on Monday at noon (PT) and Thornton, with a no movement clause in his contract, reportedly decided to remain a member of the Sharks despite the the team being well out of a playoff race. Pierre LeBrun of the TSN and The Athletic tweeted that Thornton has decided to remain in San Jose.
The Sharks play the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday.
