After a recent Sharks practice, I approached backup goalie Aaron Dell. He was sitting on the bench in front of his dressing room space. He was answering still more questions about whether he might be dealt away before Wednesday’s trade deadline. Dell was being a good sport about it. But he has been hearing these questions for weeks. The questions have to be wearing on him.
So of course, I asked another one to put things in perspective.
“When you were a kid in Alberta,” I said, “didn’t you dream of growing up and being mentioned in NHL trade deadline talks?
