Fighting will never go away on ice. At least if the paying customers have anything to say about it. This unassailable truth was affirmed once more over the past few days.

The Sharks are playing pretty good hockey. At times, great hockey. Can we agree on that? I was at Thursday’s 4-2 victory over the Washington Capitals, currently the best won-loss record team in the league. The Sharks were skilled and nasty, each when appropriate. Their power play, which hasn’t been totally sharp, clicked into gear. Goalie Martin Jones was again solid. Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau continued their milestone seasons.
