SAN JOSE -- Sergei Makarov became the fourth San Jose Shark elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame on Monday.
Technically.Makarov joins Igor Larionov, Rob Blake and Ed Belfour as other fabled Sharks who have entered the Hall.Technically.It will be a magnificent day for Sharks fans at the induction ceremony in November, when Makarov approaches the podium and accepts his honor as a San Jose hockey envoy.Technically.Is it wrong to insert that qualifier? Nope. We all know that Makarov gained his greatest fame long before his two seasons in San Jose. Those seasons came toward the end of a career that attained mighty peaks with the Soviet Union's best hockey teams.
