PITTSBURGH -- Bryan Rust felt good Wednesday morning, but Pittsburgh coach Mike Sullivan said the Penguins rookie forward will be a game time decision for Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Sharks.
Rust was hurt early in the third period in Game 1 on Monday by a hit from Sharks forward Patrick Marleau, who was whistled for an illegal check. Rust played only one shift the rest of the game. The NHL opted against assessing Marleau with a fine or suspension because the primary point of contact was not Rust's head. Nor, the league determined, did Marleau actually target Rust's head.
